Certification Standards
Northeast Houndsmen Certification Standards
❋ Minimum of 4 days of field training to certify
❋ Handlers will be assigned trailing groups
❋ Training is specific to Team's deployment requirements. (Response time, Environment, etc.)
Certification is based on the entire 4 days evaluations or summary of training progress produced by the team.
Certification is valid for one (1) year
Certification is valid for the team.
Certification requires that K-9 & handler complete monthly training, K-9 industry standard is 16 hrs. per month
Certification ONLY valid when K-9 team is being used in the official capacity of the employing agency.
❋ Handlers MUST produce 6 months of training logs, any recognition received, or any additional certifications.
