2026 Northeast Houndsmen Annual Law Enforcement

Training Seminar

It’s that time of year again. The Northeast Houndsmen are preparing another comprehensive week of training for the K-9 teams.

Seminar Dates:

September 20–24, 2026

Registration opening soon.

Participants must be registered and paid in full by

September 1, 2026.

Anyone not registered and paid in full by this date will not be permitted to participate.

Training Focus Areas

The 2026 Fall Seminar will include hands-on instruction and scenario-based training in:

  • Search operations with utility vehicles

  • Tactical and basic man-trailing (urban & wilderness environments)

  • Scent discrimination & scent articles

  • Missing member scenarios

  • Motor vehicle involvement & bailouts

  • Negative trails & non-traditional trails

  • Perimeter setup

  • Night training exercises

The full itinerary will be posted on the Northeast Houndsmen Facebook page and can be supplied at departments request.

Seminar Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony will take place on

Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM.

Certificates will be distributed, followed by a seminar wrap-up meeting.

Annual Fundraiser & Dinner

A supper with cash bar, included with registration, will be held on:

Guest Tickets: $25.00 each

All additional meal tickets must be purchased and paid in full by September 18, 2026

to provide the caterer with an accurate meal count.

Handlers are encouraged to bring an item to donate for the auction or raffle held during the fundraiser.

Hotel Reservations Opening Soon

We’ll be securing a block of rooms under the Northeast Houndsmen at the Colonial Hotel, 625 Betty Spring Rd., Gardner, MA, (978) 630-2500.

It is the handler’s responsibility to pay for your room. When registering please let them know you are registering under the block of rooms set aside for the Northeast Houndsmen.

Hotel block will close August 20th.
